Dr. David Griffin is a Battalion Chief and Deputy Director of Training in Charleston, SC. He was the operator of the First-Due Engine on June 18, 2007 when nine of his fellow firefighters perished in the line of duty. David is an international speaker and instructor, acertified Chief Fire Officer and Chief Training Officer with The Center for Public Safety Excellence. Dr. David Griffin will be speaking on organizational changes following a multiple line of duty death incident and how these changes can be instituted.
Carol Staben-Burroughs is a Trainer for the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation. She offers local and regional trainings for Law Enforcement, Firefighters, Medical and other Public Safety personnel. She is the Clinical Director for the Gallatin County Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) team and volunteers with the Montana CISM Network. Carol will have an interactive discussion, the major types of stress including general stress, cumulative stress, critical incident stress and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
